Compositition > Diagonal Lines


The red bars show you the diagonal lines of the house. This is a much better way to shoot a bulding.

In this shot (of the same house), the video camera is moved to the right about 30 feet--so that it is aiming at the corner of the house. See how all the lines have suddenly become diagonal.

Check out the roofline, for example. It is no longer parallel with the side of the screen. Just moving a few feet changes the entire dynamic of the shot. This is a much more visually interesting shot.
